Generosity

Be kind and you shall be rewarded. Not because you want to be rewarded, not even because it is the right thing to do. Be kind because it is the only thing you can be in case you want to be honest to yourself, if you want to wholly and completely be the person you think you are.

People who are not honest do not even think about the possibility of being kind. It is not in their mental framework, their hearts and minds are not prepared to the idea of that they will someday face a split in the road. A wide range of opportunities comes across every one of us in every road we chose to take, each leading to a different outcome.

Selfish people can only face one opportunity at a time, they can only predict one outcome: their own – defined, ready-made and to which they think they are entitled. People without options are not kind for they are too limited; they focus too much on objectives rather than on possibilities.

They can not know and learn that the joy lies with the road itself with all its bumps, crossroads, stops and highways. They do not know that if they manage to be kind, they will find the finest, most honest and most loyal companion in the world: themselves. And a kind self can never be alone.
